A slow Saturday morning
Today I woke up with nowhere to be, which is rarer than it should be.
The morning went like this: tea, a long stare out the window, a half-finished to-do list I decided to ignore. I noticed how quiet it was and how rarely I let it stay that way.
Small things I noticed
- The kettle sounds different when I'm not rushing.
- I checked my phone less than usual, and nothing fell apart.
- There's a particular kind of tired that is actually just needing a slow day.
I think days like this are doing quiet work. They don't leave anything to show for them, but I feel steadier afterwards, like something got reset.
Tomorrow will be busier. For now, I'm going to finish my tea.
